India’s first 3D animation and live-action combined feature film ‘Toonpur Ka Super Hero’ directed by 5-time National Award winner Kireet Khurana, in Creative association with Climb Media (I) Pvt. Ltd. which has scripted the film as well.

The film is budgeted at Rs.400 mn. and is being produced by Kumar Mangat’s Big Screen Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Sunil Lulla of Eros Entertainment.

After producing the blockbuster “Omkara”, producer Kumar Mangat is extremely excited about the potential of this film. “It’s not a film about a superhero, as the title suggests, but something very different.” The film involves the interaction of real actors and 3D virtual characters. It is an intensive and high quality project.

In a coup of sorts, Climb Media has managed to rope in Ajay Devgan and Kajol play themselves in the film. They are all set to mingle and work with the cartoon characters from the town of ‘Toonpur’. Ajay Devgan remarked “The moment I heard the script, I agreed to produce the film. The film is a family adventure and it will be exciting to work with animated characters”.

The animation pre-production and part production for the film is currently under development at 2nz Animation Co., a division of Climb Media. 2nz Animation Co. which is a leading award wining animation company for ads and visual effects in feature films.

While the animation production is in progress, the shooting is due to commence by November 2007. The film will take over a year to finish and will be ready for Diwali release in 2008. However for now, we can rest assured that magic will be unleashed for everyone – including people and cartoons, when ‘Toonpur ka Super Hero’ is finally released.
